August 21,1998 JOURNALISTS: Here's an idea for a news story and a list of selected Purdue events during the next two weeks. Students return to Purdue; 35,000 plus expected Classes on Purdue's West Lafayette campus begin Monday, Aug. 24. Classrooms should be filled with at least as many students as last year (35,715), according to Doug Christiansen, director of admissions. Purdue will announce its fall enrollment figures on Tuesday, Sept. 1. In advance, Christiansen can discuss Purdue's recruiting and retention efforts.
