free to candidates for degrees, necessary for admission.

- ** Friday, Aug. 28. Welcome-back dance. 7-11 p.m. Purdue Armory. Phi Sigma Pi will
sponsor this dance. Tickets are $3 per person.

Purdue Armory). Triangle and Acacia fraternities and Alpha Omicron Pi and Delta Delta
Delta sororities are sponsoring this free concert.

- Wednesday, Aug. 5. Free Elder Care Workshop for caretakers of aging loved ones, "Coping
As a Caretaker -- Legal Issues of Elder Care." Noon-1 p.m. Room 204, Stewart Center.
Facilitator: Ed Stachowicz, Tippecanoe County Legal Services. Sponsored by Purdue
Personnel Services.
- Thursday, Aug. 6. Creativity Tools and Techniques for Your Success. 1-4 p.m. Room
268, Potter Engineering Center. This seminar offered by Purdue's Office of Continuing
Engineering Education will focus on developing and using creativity for success in
everyday life and in the workplace. It will be broadcast to sites around the state via
the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System satellite network. The cost
of attending the program at Purdue is $100 per person. The registration deadline

- Thursday, Aug. 6. Two seminars on taking care of soccer field turf. Cooperative Extension
Service Office in Marion County, 9245 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis. A 1-4 p.m. session
is for professional turf managers. A 6-9 p.m. seminar is for coaches, parents and others who manage their own fields. Cost is $20 for those who preregister and
$25 for those registering on-site. Presented by the Purdue Extension Service's Turfgrass

- ** Thursday-Friday, Aug. 6-7. Fourth annual National Issues Forums Public Policy
Institute. West Lafayette campus. The topics are "Our Nation's Kids: Is Something
Wrong?" and "The Education Crisis: How Do We Get What We Pay for?" Participants will
receive training so that they may return to their communities to lead similar deliberative
discussions. Registration is $100. Co-sponsored by the Kettering Foundation and Purdue's
