except where noted, and all are open to news media coverage. New or updated listings

- ** Sunday, Aug. 9. Summer commencement. 2:30 p.m. Elliott Hall of Music. Tickets,
distributed free to candidates for degrees, necessary for admission.
ENTERTAINMENT
- Tuesday, July 14. Free concert by the Purdue Summer Concert Band, Purdue Summer Jazz
Band, and the Harrison High School Band. 6:30 p.m. Slayter Center of Performing Arts.
SEMINARS
- ** Wednesday, Aug. 5. Free Elder Care Workshop, "Coping As a Caretaker -- Legal Issues
of Elder Care." Noon-1 p.m. Room 204, Stewart Center. Facilitator: Ed Stachowicz,
Tippecanoe County Legal Services. Lunch hour information and informal discussions
aimed at caretakers of aging loved ones and sponsored by Purdue Personnel Services.
- ** Thursday, Aug. 6. Creativity Tools and Techniques for Your Success. 1-4 p.m.
Room 268, Potter Engineering Center. This seminar offered by Purdue's Office of Continuing
Engineering Education will focus on developing and using creativity for success in
everyday life and in the workplace. It will be broadcast to sites around the state
via the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System satellite network. The
cost of attending the program at Purdue is $100 per person. The registration deadline

- ** Thursday, Aug. 6. Two seminars on taking care of soccer field turf. Cooperative
Extension Service Office in Marion County, 9245 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis. A
1-4 p.m. session is for professional turf managers. A 6-9 p.m. seminar is for coaches,
parents and others who manage their own fields. Cost is $20 for those who preregister
and $25 for those registering on-site. Presented by the Purdue Extension Service's
Turfgrass Science Program and the Midwest Regional Turf Foundation, whose members
