June 19, 1998 Sign-up begins for continuing engineering classes WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Registration for Purdue University's fall Continuing Engineering Education classes begins July 1. The 18 graduate-level classes will be taught at Purdue during the fall semester and broadcast via the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System to more than 100 industrial and public access sites in Indiana and other states, including Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Wisconsin. One course, on the industrial applications of statistics, will be offered via the Internet. More than 500 engineers are expected to enroll. Engineers working in industry and continuing their education can register for the for-credit classes through Aug. 17. A late fee will be applied to registrations received after July 26. The fall courses will cover topics in civil, chemical, electrical, industrial, mechanical and materials engineering, as well as mathematics, computer science and statistics.
