Proposals sought for Lilly Endowment programWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- A committee of faculty and staff is seeking suggestions for possible inclusion in the Purdue University response to a Lilly Endowment request for proposals for its "Indiana College Preparatory Program."The goal of the Lilly-funded initiative is to improve student performance and preparation for college-level study. Among the criteria for inclusion are that the Purdue programs connect directly to K-12 students and focus on enrichment, remediation or other improvement in K-12 student learning. "This is a great opportunity for Purdue University and for the K-12 educational system in Indiana," said Marilyn Haring, dean of the School of Education and co-chair of the Purdue committee seeking proposals. Outlines of programs that could be included in the Purdue response to Lilly are due by June 19 and should be sent to Harry Morrison, dean of the School of Science, or Haring. Morrison's office is in the Mathematical Sciences Building. Haring's is in the Liberal Arts and Education Building. Questions should be directed to Chanda Riggs, School of Education, at cghall@expert.cc.purdue.edu.
