This calendar lists Homecoming Weekend events Oct. 17-19 on Purdue's West Lafayette

FRIDAY, OCT. 17
- 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Office of Admissions visitation and tours. Room 109, Schleman Hall.
Campus tours leave at 9:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Admissions counselors also
will be available.
- 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Libraries Special Collections presents "Amelia Earhart -- The Purdue
Connection 1935-1937." Room 279, Stewart Center. Exhibit of Earhart memorabilia.
On June 10, 1935, Amelia Earhart was appointed a consultant in the Department of
the Study of Careers for Women. The exhibit covers her Purdue years.
- 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Building Construction Management Placement Roundtable. Purdue Memorial
Union, South Ballroom. Alumni and construction company officials will meet and talk
with construction students in the Department of Building Construction Management.

- 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Consumer and Family Science Festive Friday. Events include morning
classes, afternoon activities (including golf, tennis and tours) and dinner at the

- 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Guided walking tours of campus. Tours leaving from the Union Club
Hotel Lobby, Grant Street. Call for tour reservations, (765) 494-4636.
- 2:30 p.m. Albert P. Stewart Lounge Rededication. Elliott Hall of Music. Celebrate
the rededication of the newly refurbished and redecorated Albert P. Stewart Lounge,
named in honor of the founder of Purdue Musical Organizations.
- 4 p.m. Old Heavilon Hall Clockworks Dedication. Atrium, Materials and Electrical
Engineering Building. Join Purdue alumni, staff, and friends as the restored clockworks
from the old Heavilon Hall Tower are put on permanent public display, 41 years after
being saved from the old tower upon its demolition.
- 5:30-7:30 p.m. Crystal Apple Award Dinner. West Faculty Lounge, Purdue Memorial Union.
The School of Education Dean's Club will honor outstanding educators for academic
excellence and personal commitment. The public is welcome. Reservations are $20 and

- 6 p.m. School of Agriculture Dean's Club Dinner at The Trails. For reservations,

- 6-9 p.m. Purdue Black Alumni reception at the Black Cultural Center, 315 University
St.
- 8 p.m. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Elliott Hall of Music. Tickets
for this musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber are $30, $23 and $18 for the public; $18
and $14 for Purdue students; and $7 ($5 for K-12 students) for second balcony, at

- 11 p.m.-1 a.m. Mackey Magic. Mackey Arena. Men's and women's basketball teams take
the floor after midnight for their first official day of practice. Doors will open
at 10:30 p.m. A light show, the presentation of the women's Big Ten Championship
rings and banner, and scrimmages by both teams all are planned for the evening.

SUNDAY, OCT. 19
- All Day. Men's tennis. Boilermaker Classic. Varsity Courts behind Recreational Gymnasium.
- 2:30 p.m. Fall Concert Band and Symphonic Band Concert. Loeb Playhouse, Stewart Center.
