Campus Activities

-- The Department of Restaurant, Hotel, Institutional and Tourism Management is having their annual Career Day Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Jack Vaughn, President of Opryland, is the keynote speaker. His address is at 9:30 a.m. in Room 322, Stewart Center. The Career Fair, with 50 companies participating, will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the South Ball Room of the Purdue Memorial Union.

-- The 9th Annual Purdue Conference on Romance Languages, Literatures and Film will take place at Stewart Center Oct. 9-11. The conference will include the presentation of the 7th annual Lorraine Lawton Award given for writing by and/or about women in Italian literature or film. The conference draws scholars from around the world and all sessions are free to Purdue students and staff. The conference is sponsored by Margaret Rowe, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Christiane Keck, head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures with the support of Programs in Comparative Literature, Italian Studies, Film Studies, Jewish Studies, Medieval Studies, Women's Studies and the Department of History.

-- Health Promotion Programs will present a photographic exhibit, "The Face of Cancer in the Lafayette Area, A Photographic Essay," as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The exhibit will be open 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Oct. 6-9, in the main floor lounge of the Recreational Gymnasium. Representatives of campus and community organizations will be available to answer questions and share information. Event co-sponsors are Kappa Epsilon pharmacy fraternity, the American Cancer Society, Purdue Employee Wellness Program, YWCA EncorePlus Program, Purdue Women's Clinic and Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority.

-- William Rawlins, professor of communication, will be featured in a segment on intimate relationships that will air on the CBS This Morning show on Thursday, Sept. 25 sometime between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
