Those students who expect to receive their engineering degrees in December are eligible to take the Nov. 1 exam, which is the first step a student must take toward becoming a professional engineer. Registration as a professional engineer protects the public by ensuring that engineers have met certain standards of competency in education.
Application forms for the exam are available from the individual engineering school offices and should be returned with the $20 exam fee to those office by 4 p.m. Sept. 18.
