JOURNALISTS: Here are newsworthy Purdue events during the next two weeks.

Engineers: Polish up your resumes!

Purdue engineering students will hold the nation's largest student-run job fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday (9/17) on the Memorial Mall (rain location: Purdue Armory). More than 8,000 students are expected to attend the event, with 255 companies represented. The job fair is the highlight of the 18th Annual Purdue Industrial Roundtable, a two-day event that also features companies giving seminars for engineering students all day Tuesday (9/16) in Stewart Center. Thursday & Friday, Sept. 18 & 19.
85th Annual Veterinary Conference. Begins at 8:30 a.m. each day in Stewart Center. Veterinary practitioners will attend programs in small companion, food animal and equine medicine. Friday, Sept. 19.
Indiana Council for Economic Education luncheon and awards presentation. 11:45 a.m. Indiana Roof Ballroom, 140 W. Washington St., Indianapolis. Michael Moscow, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, will speak about the role of education in sustaining regional economic growth. Board of Trustees meeting. 1:30 p.m. Room 304 (Anniversary Drawing Room), Purdue Memorial Union. President Steven C. Thursday , Sept. 25.
Ceremony recognizing two companies participating in the initial Corporate Adoption program in the School of Consumer and Family Sciences. Eddie Bauer and Castner Knott/Mercantile Corp. will sponsor scholarships and other activities for students in the Department of Consumer Sciences and Retailing. The effort connects minority students with prospective future employers. Participating companies set up on-site corporate visits, supply company information to retail classes and take part in the department's retail conference.
