Purdue president extends condolences to families

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue University President Steven C. Beering had this statement today (Friday 9/12) regarding the deaths of four members of the Purdue community in two separate accidents -- an airplane crash and a fraternity house accident:

"This is a tragic and sorrowful day for all of us at Purdue University. Any sudden loss of life is a deeply saddening experience. It is even harder to accept and comprehend when a young man or woman dies, cutting short a lifetime of promise and accomplishment. All of us in the Purdue University family are shocked and saddened by these deaths, and extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of these four young people. The heartbreak of their loss may eventually fade, but the memories of their lives will stay with us forever."
