Faculty and Staff Honors

-- Richard Borgens, professor of developmental anatomy in the School of Veterinary Medicine, received the Marcus Singer Medal for Regeneration Research from the Marcus Singer Society. This is the 15th anniversary of the society's creation. Marcus Singer was a well-known regeneration scientist, and the society recognizes outstanding achievement in that field.

-- Renee Thomas, director of Purdue's Black Cultural Center, attended the Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. The four-week institute works to improve the status of women at the middle and executive levels of higher education administration by providing participants with skills and information pertinent to the management and governance of colleges and universities and with timely information and perspectives on teaching, research and service.
