Six Purdue students receive $8,000 Ehrlich Scholarships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. --Wabash National Corp. and the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University have announced the recipients of the 1997-98 Donald "Jerry" Ehrlich Scholarships.

The awards, established in 1995, are given to employees or children of employees of Wabash National who are enrolled full-time in the Schools of Management, Engineering or Technology at Purdue. Other criteria include high-school graduating class ranking and SAT or ACT scores.

Each recipient receives up to $8,000 per year to cover tuition, books and expenses. The award is renewable each year, provided the student maintains a 3.0 grade-point average and is enrolled in the participating schools.

  2. Donald Bridge, Lafayette, who will begin the Krannert Executive Education program in January.

  3. Christopher Luce, Lafayette, who will continue to work full-time at Wabash while taking classes toward his undergraduate degree.

  4. Mark J. Brooks, Lafayette, who continues as an Ehrlich Scholar in his second year of study in computer science.

  5. Uyen K. Tu, Lafayette, who is a sophomore in chemistry.

  6. Chau Le Tu, Lafayette, Uyen's brother, is continuing in the scholarship program, studying electrical and computer engineering.

  7. Jeremy Minkert, Francesville , an incoming freshman who plans to study visual communication design.

The Ehrlich scholarships are funded by the friends of Wabash National and named in honor of the president and chief executive officer of the company.

Wabash National Corp. designs, manufactures and markets standard and customized truck trailers. The company is the largest U.S. manufacturer of both composite and aluminum plate trailers and bimodal vehicles.
