Krannert professor named outstanding teacher

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- For the third time in four years, Gerald Lynch, associate professor of economics and associate director of the Center for International Business Education and Research at Purdue University, has received the Salgo Noren Outstanding Teacher Award.

The award is given by the Krannert Graduate School of Management. Winners are chosen by current master's students and those who have graduated within the past three years.

The award cites Lynch's outstanding teaching in the master's program during the 1996-97 academic year. He teaches monetary theory and international economics.

In 1994, Lynch was named one of the best teachers in the world of business by Business Week magazine. He was singled out by MBA students in the publication's survey of the best business schools.

The Salgo Noren Foundation teaching award, which consists of $1,500 and a plaque, has been given annually since 1968.
