JOURNALISTS: Here are two story ideas and a list of some newsworthy Purdue events
during the next two weeks.
Job outlook improves for college grads
College graduates may find it easier to land that first job this year than in recent
years. According to Dick Stewart, director of the Purdue Placement Center, employment
opportunities for '97 graduates will increase about 6 percent over last year. "It
appears that industry and business have found some of the answers to the questions they
had, and now they're beginning to look for ways to replace folks who didn't have
jobs a few years ago," Stewart's says. The best opportunities are available in the
fields of technology, education, business and health. CONTACT: Dick Stewart, (765) 494-3981
