Faculty cited at honors convocation

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Outstanding teaching during the 1996-97 academic year at Purdue University was recognized Friday (4/18) at the University Honors Convocation.

The annual awards ceremony in Elliott Hall of Music honors outstanding faculty members universitywide and in each of the undergraduate schools. Additionally, all the university's Dean's List or Semester Honors students from the 1996 spring and fall semesters were recognized, as were winners of year-end student and staff awards.

Five faculty members received Purdue University Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Awards in Memory of Charles B. Murphy. Each $3,000 award -- the university's highest undergraduate teaching honor -- is given for exemplary teaching performance in all phases of undergraduate instruction on Purdue's West Lafayette campus.
