Preschool children and parents sought for Purdue speech study

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Researchers are seeking children between the ages of 2 and 6 years old and their parents for a Purdue University study investigating children's speech behaviors. The researchers are looking for children who stutter as well as those who do not.

Participants will be asked to attend one research session and one evaluation. During the first session both parents and their child will be asked to talk and play together for a two-hour period. During the second session, which can be scheduled for the same day or at another time, researchers will evaluate the child's fluency, speech, language and hearing.

In return for participation, the child will receive a $10 "Toys-R-Us" gift certificate and each parent will receive a $10 check.
