April 22: purdue ag senior chili supper

The supper welcomes seniors into the Purdue Agricultural Alumni Association, gives them a send-off into the "real world," and recognizes outstanding seniors. The supper runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the lawn of the Agricultural Administration Building. Tickets are $3 for faculty and staff. CONTACT: Donya Lester, Ag Alumni Association, (765) 494-8593.

April 24-25: Distinguished agricultural Alumni program

The event features seminars, receptions and panel discussions with the 1997 distinguished agricultural alumni. Seminar topics include: emerging changes in the seed industry, sustainability and management of ecological systems, and the family farm business -- past, present and future. The two-day event also features an awards convocation and luncheon. The program runs from noon to 9 p.m. April 24 and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 25. Reservations are due by April 21. May 13-15: poultry nutrition conference and degussa symposium

The three-day Multi-State Poultry Feeding and Nutrition Conference and Degussa Technical Symposium is sponsored by Purdue, Michigan State and Ohio State universities, the Universities of Illinois and Kentucky, and many companies. It features sessions on feeding layers, feeding turkeys, feed milling and feed management. The conference is approved for 12 Continuing Education Units for ARPAS members. The event will be at the Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis from 6 p.m. May 13 to noon May 15. Registration is $80 for industry personnel and $20 for university and government personnel. The fee should be sent by May 1 to Continuing Education Business Office, Purdue University, 1586 Stewart Center, Room 110, West Lafayette, IN 47907-1586. may 20-21: tri-state dairy nutrition conference

The conference, sponsored by Purdue, Ohio State and Michigan State universities, is designed for those who advise farmers of current information on the feeding of dairy cattle. Session topics include: relationship between nutrition and immune response, interpreting blood analysis, and energy values for feed. The conference runs from noon May 20 to 3 p.m. May 21 at the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne. Conference registration of $100 is due by May 2. An extra $25 will be added for late registration.
