Black Caucus of Faculty and Staff seeking alumni help
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Purdue University Black Caucus of Faculty and Staff, with
help from the Black Alumni Organization, is gearing up for its second scholarship
fund-raising weekend in conjunction with the university's Gala Weekend, April 25-27.
The caucus is using the weekend to target alumni for help with funding scholarship,
service and leadership awards and gifts for Purdue's African-American students.
Activities planned for the weekend include:
- A celebrity golf tournament beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 26, on the Purdue
South Golf Course. The $75 entry fee includes greens fee, cart rental and refreshments.

- 22nd Annual Academic and Service Awards program at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in
Fowler Hall, Stewart Center. David Henson, vice president of student services, will
be the keynote speaker. This event is free and open to the public.
- "Taste of the Caucus" from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Riehle Plaza in
downtown Lafayette. Food from caucus members, Purdue students and Lafayette residents
will be available along with a variety of games. Admission is $2, and food tickets
are $1 each.
- The Gala FUNdraiser Dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at the University
Inn. An evening of music, food and spirits is planned. $20 per person, $10 per student.
- The Black Cultural Center's New Directional Players spring review at 3 p.m. Sunday,
April 27, in Fowler Hall, Stewart Center. This event is free.
