Award-winning string quartet to play in Fowler Hall

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Brentano String Quartet will play in concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Fowler Hall in Purdue University's Stewart Center.

Founded in 1992, the Brentano String Quartet is the first quartet-in-residence at New York University. It received three major awards in 1995: the first Cleveland Quartet Award, the 1995 Naumburg Chamber Music Award and the 10th Annual Martin E. Segal Award.

The concert is the final 1997 season performance in the Purdue Convocations' Discovery Artists Series. The series is also supported by the Friends of Convocations.
