National vet gathering gives hands-on experience

From bandaging small animals and determining the sex of a reptile, to examining a horse using a treadmill and testing the quality of cow's milk, veterinary students from across the country will gain hands-on experience at the 27th annual Student American Veterinary Medical Association Symposium from Thursday through Saturday, March 13-15, at Purdue. More than 1,000 veterinary students will attend lectures and hands-on workshops dealing with a variety of topics in veterinary medicine, including small animal care, equine and food animal medicine, and professional issues and opportunities. Purdue's Breaking New Ground Outreach Program will hold a series of church accessibility workshops around Indiana in March.
