feb. 11-12: keeping pesticides out of the white river watershed

These workshops will teach a watershed approach to controlling pesticide runoff in areas that drain into the White River, the primary source of drinking water for the Indianapolis Water Co. The Feb. 11 workshop will be in the Annex Building at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds in Noblesville. The Feb. 12 workshop will be at the Selma Elementary School in Delaware County. Feb. 12: harvesting New CROP technologies

This Indiana/Illinois program will feature sessions on yield monitors, field drydown, corn plant population and herbicide-tolerant crops. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Beef House restaurant in Covington. Fee is $10, which includes lunch. March 4-13: church accessibility workshops

Purdue's Breaking New Ground Outreach Program will hold a series of church accessibility workshops around Indiana in March. The workshops are designed to help congregations make their places of worship more accessible to members with disabilities at a reasonable cost. Fee is $15, which includes lunch. April 19: project future

The program offers college-bound students in grades 9-12 the chance to be a Purdue student for a day. The students will participate in hands-on activities in college classrooms with Purdue professors. Enrollment begins Feb. 17. The program is free. Enrollment forms can be obtained from principals, guidance counselors, teachers or county Extension offices.
