Purdue Police investigate attack in Physics Building

West Lafayette, Ind. - Purdue University police are investigating a report of a battery and attempted confinement.

A Purdue female student told police she was accosted about 6 p.m. ,Saturday (12/13) while walking into a darkened office on the first floor of the Physics Building. She described the attacker as a man about 6-feet-1-inch tall, with a medium build, wearing a ski mask and gloves.

During the struggle, the woman was pushed to the ground and held there for a short period, said John Cox, captain of special services for the Purdue Police Department. The attacker then fled in an unknown direction.  

The victim, whose upper lip was injured, refused medical treatment.
