November 15, 2003 Police investigating residence hall robberyWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University police are investigating a strong-arm robbery that took place Saturday (11/15) in a residence hall room. Two occupants of a room on the third floor of Meredith Hall told police two men entered their room through the unlocked door while they were sleeping at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday. One of the occupants awoke to see an intruder in the room. He said the man grabbed a lap-top computer from the bed, then seized the occupant and pulled him to the floor before fleeing with the computer. The victims roommate awoke to see the man leaving with an accomplice who apparently had been waiting at the door. The robbery victim suffered a cut leg in the fall from the bed. He refused treatment at the scene. Police said the two men who fled are both described as college-age, black, about five foot eight inches tall.
