November 14, 2003 School of Liberal Arts awards two scholarshipsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. The Purdue University School of Liberal Arts recently presented scholarships to two incoming first-year students. The 2003 School of Liberal Arts Gary/Hammond/East Chicago Merit Scholarship was awarded to Racheal Noble, of Gary, Ind. She received $2,000 for her first year and $1,000 for each subsequent year up to three years as long as she maintains a 2.5 grade point average. Britney Jones, of Gary, Ind., also received a one-time Liberal Arts Gary/Hammond/East Chicago Merit Award of $1,000. Noble and Jones graduated from Emerson School of Visual and Performing Arts and both plan to major in psychology. The School of Liberal Arts Gary/Hammond/East Chicago Merit Scholarship is available to students who graduate from a high school in Gary, Hammond or East Chicago.
