Police arrest 5, eject 7 at Iowa football game

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – During Purdue's football game against Iowa on Saturday (11/8), police arrested five people and ejected seven others from Ross-Ade Stadium.

Among the arrested were three Purdue students: David A. Anderson Jr., 20, a sophomore in the School of Liberal Arts from West Lafayette, Ind.; Joseph R. Winkler, 20, a junior in the Krannert School of Management from Wheaton, Md.; and John J. Jermakowicz, 21, a junior in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Evansville, Ind. All three were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

Luis Zacarius, 23, of West Lafayette, and Sean P. Shoolbraid, 18, of Altoona, Pa., also were also arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

The seven people police removed from the stadium were ejected throwing objects in the stands, said Steven R. Dietrich, interim chief of the Purdue University Police Department. Two of the seven removed were Purdue students.

Law enforcement agencies involved in providing game-day security include the Purdue police department, Lafayette and West Lafayette police departments, Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police.
