Joe Lovano brings 'On This Day at the Vanguard' to Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Jazz musician Joe Lovano will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Loeb Playhouse.

Lovano, originally slotted to perform Miles Davis' "Birth of the Cool Suite," will perform his original works from the recently released "On This Day at the Vanguard" as well as from his Grammy winning recording "52nd Street Themes." Lovano's Purdue appearance is presented by Purdue Convocations.

"This will be a night of great music that gives us a fresh glimpse of one of the most creative and popular periods in the history of jazz from a group led by one of the most important, dynamic and influential of our current players and leaders," says Don Seybold, Purdue Convocations' artistic adviser.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at any Tickemaster outlet, campus box office or by calling (765) 494-3933. Tickets, which include a $1 service fee, are $16 for students and $24 for general public.
