Purdue Homecoming king and queen crowned

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Adriana Bartucci of Park Ridge, Ill., and Rob Irvine of South Bend, Ind., were crowned Purdue University's Homecoming king and queen during halftime of the Purdue-Illinois game Saturday (10/4).

Bartucci is a senior majoring in communication and a member of Alpha Phi sorority. Irvine is a senior majoring in elementary education and a member of Delta Chi fraternity. Bartucci and Irvine were selected after a formal interview by a panel of judges composed of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community leaders.

The Homecoming court, all seniors elected by students, also was introduced at the game. They are:

• Stephanie Vandor, a secondary English education major from Woodridge, Ill., who is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.

• Kylene Nidlinger, an agribusiness management major from Decatur, Ind., who is a member of Delta Gamma sorority.

• Jamie Metzger, a chemical engineering major from Indianapolis, who is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

• Allison Tescher, a management major from Pendleton, Ind., who is a member of Chi Omega sorority.

• Megan Durr, a chemical engineering major from Edmond, Okla., who is a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

• Emily Bondus, a speech pathology and audiology major from Carmel, Ind., who is a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

• Jessica Shepherd, a communication major from Greenwood, Ind., who is a member of Delta Gamma sorority.

• Matt Lindner, a psychology major from Lake Zurich, Ill. who is a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity.

• Matt Lehtinen, an electrical engineering major from Two Harbors, Minn., who is a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

• Kirk Smiley, a management major from Palatine, Ill., who is a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

• DJ Tamer, a communications major from Indianapolis.

• Greg Abel, a communication major from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, who is a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

• Scott Saunders, a biochemistry and molecular biology major from Libertyville, Ill.

• Ben Harris, an aviation flight technology major from Manhattan Beach, Calif., who is a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
