President Jischke to discuss admissions on next radio show

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue President Martin C. Jischke will discuss the university's student admissions process from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, during his live call-in radio show on WBAA's "AM920 Magazine."

Jischke will talk about how the admissions process works at the West Lafayette campus. He will dispel some myths associated with the process, such as high school seniors believing a drop in grades during their final semester can't affect their college admission.

Jischke will discuss Purdue's goal of holding undergraduate enrollment steady on its West Lafayette campus while increasing the overall academic quality of the student body. Enrollment figures for the current year also will be reviewed.

Listeners will have the opportunity to ask questions during the show. Local listeners can call (765) 496-1999. Listeners outside the local calling area can call toll-free at (866) 922-2101.

"Purdue was one of the first universities to offer an integrated admissions process through the Internet in which prospective students can complete an application, pay application fees and estimate financial aid online," WBAA manager Dan Skinner says. "Then, students simply need to make sure their transcripts and standardized test scores have been submitted. The Office of Enrollment Management has truly made it as easy as possible to apply to Purdue."

The station's AM signal reaches approximately two-thirds of Indiana and may be heard globally via the station's Web site .
