Black Cultural Center sponsors Friends and Family Day

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A civil rights trivia contest, conducted in a format similar to the TV show "Jeopardy," will be among the highlights of the Purdue University Black Cultural Center's Friends and Family Day.

The event, which will introduce the BCC's focus on the Civil Rights and Black Arts Movement this semester, will take place from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. In addition to the trivia contest, live re-enactments, storytelling, poetry readings, and a children's activity and game room will be featured. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served.

Donna Hall, Friends and Family Day chairperson, says she hopes many people take advantage of the opportunity to see what the Black Cultural Center has to offer.

"The event is being organized to provide students, faculty and staff, along with the Lafayette-West Lafayette community, an opportunity to come together for a day of fun, food and learning about other cultures."

The Black Cultural Center has served Purdue students since 1969. For more information on the center and upcoming Cultural Arts Series events, visit the center Web .
