Willie Nelson coming to Elliott Hall of Music

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Country music legend Willie Nelson will perform at Elliott Hall of Music at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, to kick off the 2003-04 Purdue Convocations season.

The show is co-sponsored by the Purdue Student Concert Committee.

Nelson, a Luck, Texas, native, recently turned 70. Known best for his long hair, blue jeans, bandana and overall hard rock look, he has crossed over generations of music lovers and genres to be considered one of the most versatile musicians of our time.

In touch with his roots and knowing that his fame could be used to help others, Nelson, along with Neil Young and John Mellencamp, founded the Farm Aid concert series, which has raised more than $12 million in the last decade.

Tickets for Nelson's Purdue concert are $32.50, which includes a $1 facilities fee. Campus sales starts at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, at campus box offices. Students, faculty and staff must bring their Purdue ID to purchase tickets on Friday. Purchasers may not bring someone else's ID to purchase tickets.
