Camp named secretary of faculties at West Lafayette campus

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Joseph Camp, acting chair of Purdue North Central's Biology/Chemistry Department, has accepted the position of secretary of faculties at the West Lafayette campus.

The appointment became effective Tuesday (7/1).

Camp, who also assumes duties as a professor of veterinary pathobiology at the West Lafayette campus, replaces Solomon "Sol" Gartenhaus, a professor of physics who retired on June 30 as secretary of faculties after holding the post for 22 years.

As faculties secretary, Camp will serve as chief information officer for the University Senate, maintaining its records and responding to queries for information regarding Senate activities.

Camp, who has been on the faculty of Purdue North Central for 18 years, has served two three-year terms as a member of the University Senate and has served on five of its committees.

At the North Central campus, he also served on the Faculty Senate, as well as on the Strategic Planning Committee and the Faculty Grievance Committee, among others.
