Purdue School of Technology distinguished alumni honored

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University's School of Technology honored 15 distinguished alumni at a May 2 ceremony. Alumni receiving awards were:

• Randall L. Barr, operations manager at Hensel Phelps Construction Co. of Kingsville, Texas. Received a bachelor's degree in building construction management in 1974.

• Jeffrey L. Dyer, president and CEO of Dyer Photographic in Anderson, Ind. Received a bachelor's degree in computer technology in 1989.

• Richard C. Erickson, chair of the Department of Practical Arts and Vocational-Technical Education, College of Education, University of Missouri-Columbia (retired 1992). Received a doctorate in industrial education in 1966.

• Wanda Ferguson, general manager of Martinrea International — North Vernon Division in Indiana. Received a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership and supervision in 1995.

• Galen M. Gareis, senior product project engineer for Belden Wire and Cable, Electronics Division, of Richland, Ind. Received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology in 1983.

• Brian Imbler, former owner and president of CSI Electronics in Kokomo, Ind., and now pursuing acting career. Received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology in 1990.

• Dale Jackson, senior producer at Tiburon Entertainment/Electronic Arts of Maitland, Fla. Received a bachelor's degree in computer graphics technology in 1993.

• Shelley Smith Law, business analyst for ArvinMeritor Inc. of Nashville, Ind. Received a bachelor's degree in computer technology in 1996.

• Daniel C. Lewis, president of worldwide commercial business for Booz Allen Hamilton of New York. Received a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership and supervision in 1972.

• Francis O. McPhillips, instructor in machine trades for Floyd County Consolidated School Corp. and lecturer for departments of computer graphics technology and mechanical engineering technology for the School of Technology in New Albany, Ind. Received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology from IUPUI in 1982.

• George N. Mosey, corporate secretary, treasurer and owner of Mosey Manufacturing Co. Inc. in Richmond, Ind. Received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology in 1972.

• Scott M. Niswonger, chairman and CEO of Forward Air Corp. and Landair Corp. of Greenville, Tenn. He received an associate's degree in aviation technology in 1968.

• Rue H. Patel, plant manager for General Mills Cereal Plant in Buffalo, N.Y. Received a bachelor's degree in industrial technology in 1988.

• Larry A. Smith, plant manager for MicroMetl Corp. of Indianapolis. Received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology in 1986.

• Doug Wheeler, CEO, president and director of ScriptRx Inc. of West Palm Beach, Fla. Received a bachelor's degree in computer technology in 1985.
