April 25, 2003 Purdue Galleries' Made in Mexico to kick off Cinco de Mayo fiesta WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – In celebration of the Mexican holiday Cinco de Mayo, Purdue Galleries will present a summer exhibit of artworks from Mexican artists in their permanent collection. Hecho en México/Made in Mexico will run from May 1 through Aug. 10 in the Stewart Center Gallery. An opening reception will take place from 5-7 p.m. Thursday (5/1) in the Stewart Center Gallery. The reception will help kick off the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta 2003, a series of events celebrating Mexican life and culture in Greater Lafayette. The exhibit features 22 pieces in a variety of media from the Mexican Modernists and contemporary Mexican artists. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
