April 3, 2003 Purdue Theatre season concludes with thought-provoking comedyWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Theatre concludes its Mainstage Season with "Fuddy Meers," David Lindsay-Abaire's comical roller coaster ride through the day of an amnesiac trying to decipher her fractured life while surrounded by a group of bizarre characters. "Fuddy Meers" plays April 17-27 in the Experimental Theatre in Stewart Center. Richard Sullivan Lee, associate professor of theatre, directs the production, which he said initially made him laugh and then sparked a series of emotional reactions. "When I first read 'Fuddy Meers' I laughed at its absurdity, but the more I thought about the play, the more it saddened me," Lee said. "I was taken on a ride through a fun house, laughing and at times a little frightened. I was intrigued by how cleverly the play twisted my perception of what was going on." "Fuddy Meers" opens at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17. Additional performances are at 8 p.m. April 18-19 and 22-26, with 2 p.m. matinees on April 19, 26 and 27. General public tickets are $14 and $16. Senior citizen tickets are $10 and $12, and student tickets are $8 and $10.
