Purdue sorority sponsors Easter egg hunt

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Greater Lafayette area children ages 2-12 can attend an Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the Purdue Panhellenic Association and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.

The hunt will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 13, on Slayter Hill, at the corner of Stadium Avenue and North Intramural Drive. If it rains, the event will be at the Lambert Fieldhouse at the corner of Stadium and Northwestern avenues.

The timeline for the event is:

1-1:30 p.m. – registration.

1:30 p.m. – welcome.

1:45-2 p.m. – 2- to 4-year-olds' hunt.

2-2:15 p.m. – 5- to 8-year-olds' hunt.

2:15-2:30 – 9- to 12-year-olds' hunt.

The event also will feature carnival-like activity booths. As many as 400 children can participate.

Event organizer Lindsey Baker says she hopes for a strong turnout.

"Alpha Xi Delta and the Panhellenic Association are very excited to hold an event in which the community can be directly involved," Baker says. "This is a great opportunity for kids and parents to come out and have a blast with members of the Greek community. This event allows us to reach out and give back to the community that so many times supports us in what we do."
