Purdue Research Park hosts specialized job fair

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Job seekers with high-tech, research and pharmaceutical skills will have a chance to learn about employment opportunities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday (3/26) during the third annual job fair at the Purdue Technology Center, 3000 Kent Ave.

"The park job fair is one of the most effective ways for our member companies to find the skilled employees they need to fill their unique openings," said Joe Hornett, senior vice president and treasurer of the Purdue Research Foundation. "While it's not the largest fair of its kind, we hope the selective nature of the event succeeds in bringing together qualified candidates and employers who can offer challenging and rewarding positions."

Located at the Purdue Research Park are more than 36 high-tech companies launched by the park's small business incubation complex. These companies employ more than 200 people. Also at the park are 20 high-tech companies that operate independently from the incubator system. Many of these companies are spin-offs from Purdue University licensed technology.

Most companies participating in the job fair have paid internships as well as regular full- and part-time opportunities available. Some of the skills employers will be seeking include chemical, biomedical and biological engineering; computer, biological and statistical sciences; information, industrial and mechanical technology; and specialties such as genetics or plant biology. Most positions require a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree in the specified field.

The Purdue Research Foundation and Purdue Research Park sponsor the fair. Other participants include the Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization, the Lafayette Rotary Club and the park businesses.

Job seekers are encouraged to being their resume. For more information, visit the job fair Web site at https://www.adpc.purdue.edu/PRF/FAIR.
