March 13, 2003 Expert can talk about Serbian assassination A Purdue University expert on Bosnia says the current state of emergency in Serbia could lead to positive changes. "The assassination of the Serbian prime minister is pretty bad news for Serbia," says Charles Ingrao, a history professor in the School of Liberal Arts whose areas of specialty include early modern Europe, Habsburg and Central European history. While the loss of this well-liked leader is devastating for Serbians, Ingrao says there are historical ramifications for this struggling republic. "Now someone else can step forward," he says. "Hopefully, the dismay and shock of the Serbian people will cause them to use this event to act against the underworld of Slobodan Milosevic."
