Purdue to co-sponsor collegiate job fair in Indianapolis

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue and Indiana universities will co-host the 13th annual Indiana Collegiate Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 28 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

There is a $10 registration fee to be paid at the door.

The fair is open to any degreed or soon-to-be-degreed person from any college. It also is recommended for students seeking internship positions, said Jim Megathlin, career services consultant at Purdue's Center for Career Opportunities.

"It is evident that Indiana, like the rest of the country, is in a tight job market," said Megathlin, who has assisted in planning the event for 12 years. "This job fair is a very effective way to make contacts with potential employers because it offers face-to-face meetings to discuss current or anticipated careers in companies."

More than 75 companies are expected to attend the Indiana Collegiate Job Fair. Representatives from organizations with careers in accounting, sales, marketing, engineering, technology, computer science, communication, management, government, non-profit, social science and health care will be at the fair.

"Students should bring plenty of resumes and dress to impress," Megathlin said.

More information about the job fair is available on the Web or by contacting Megathlin at (765) 494-8988 or jimmegathlin@purdue.edu.
