March 11, 2003 University police investigate shopping plaza robbery WEST LAFAYETTE, IND – Purdue University police are investigating the report of a robbery Tuesday (3/11) evening at the Thriftway Supermarket Inc. in the Purdue West Shopping Plaza. Witnesses told police that the robber was a white male, 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and wore faded blue jeans and a gray stocking cap pulled down on his forehead. He may have been wearing a green jacket, said Ron Fosnaugh, captain of special services for the Purdue Police Department. The robber, who took an undisclosed amount of cash, left the store area on foot. Anyone with information is asked to contact Purdue police at (765) 494-8221.
