Faculty and staff honors

– The National Youth Sports Program presented Purdue University with an award for sponsoring its new NYSP camp. The program enabled more than 200 children from Greater Lafayette and surrounding areas to participate in five weeks of swimming, tennis and soccer lessons, physical fitness and health education classes last summer. Purdue and Morgan State were presented with the award at the annual NYSP workshop at Walt Disney World.

– Joyce Hall, director of Purdue's Division of Financial Aid, received the Allan W. Purdy Distinguished Service Award at the annual conference of the Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA). The award is the highest honor given by the organization. It is presented in recognition of "outstanding contributions to the financial aid profession and to MASFAA goals." Hall has served as president of the Midwest and the Indiana student financial aid associations. She also has served on the board of directors of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, based in Washington, D.C.
