January 29,2003 Purdue Theatre adds school matinee of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Due to high demand, Purdue Theatre has added a fourth school matinee of "To Kill a Mockingbird." Weekday matinees of the dramatization of Harper Lee's novel will be performed at 11 a.m. Feb. 25-28 in the Loeb Playhouse, Stewart Center. Each student also will receive a study guide to supplement the production. "We've been overwhelmed by the response from teachers around the state," says theatre department chair Russ Jones. "Anticipating a great deal of interest in this show, we originally offered three matinees this year. Already, all three shows are sold out, and we are taking reservations for a fourth." Christopher Sergel's adaptation of "To Kill a Mockingbird" is directed by Richard Stockton Rand, associate professor of theatre.
