Building a better conference at Purdue workshop set for Feb. 13

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The annual How to Conduct a Successful Conference at Purdue workshop is scheduled for Feb. 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Stewart Center, rooms 214 and 218.

"This year's theme is Build a Better Conference with Purdue," said Chris Sharp, sales and marketing coordinator for Purdue's Conference Division. "We want to provide faculty and staff with the resources to successfully build their next conference or meeting on campus."

This free workshop for Purdue faculty and staff, sponsored by Conference Division and Housing and Food Services, will offer three information sessions and an exhibition. The information sessions will highlight conference planning and budgeting, the amenities of Greater Lafayette and an interactive panel discussion with current clients and conference professionals.

Campus partners involved in making conferences and meetings a success will display their products and be available to explain their services in the exhibit room.

"The exhibits give faculty and staff ideas on incorporating brochure development, recreational activities, lodging, catering, transportation and much more into their programs," Sharp said.

Purdue's Conference Division assists in the coordination and execution of conferences and meetings on and off campus. Purdue annually administers more than 700 conferences and meetings, with more than 70,000 people in attendance.
