Purdue president hits the road to discuss campaign, strategic plan

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke will continue his visits with friends and alumni across the country when he stops in Dallas on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The event, from 6-9 p.m. at The Science Place will include an hors d' oeuvre reception.

Other university leaders will join Jischke for his road trips, including Larry Preo, executive director of the Purdue Alumni Association, who will provide the event's opening address. He will be followed by Murray Blackwelder, senior vice president for advancement. Blackwelder will introduce the Campaign for Purdue video and discuss the university's current fund-raising activities and special events.

After the video, Jischke will discuss the university's mission and strategic plan and will answer questions from the audience. Miss Indiana Tangra Riggle, a Purdue student. will sing.

After Texas, Jischke is scheduled to be in Naples, Fla., on Saturday, Feb. 8, where he will meet guests in the Pavilion Ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton.

The Naples event will include a reception. In addition to Jischke's presentation, entertainment will be provided by Purdue Musical Organizations.

Jischke and other university leaders will take part in similar events on the following dates:

• Feb. 22 – Fort Wayne, Ind.

• March 6 – San Jose, Calif.

• March 7 – Los Angeles.

• April 12 – Indianapolis.

• May 9 – Dearborn, Mich.
