Krannert School invites public to business speakers series

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Corporate finance officers, the Mexican trade consul and Purdue University's women's basketball coach are among those who will present their ideas to Krannert School of Management students this semester.

Business leaders have been coming to campus since 1973 as part of Krannert's Executive Forum. The series is presented in conjunction with a class coordinated by Richard A. Cosier, Krannert School dean and Leeds Professor of Management.

"We bring top-level executives in to talk to our students," Cosier said. "They also meet with small groups of both graduate and undergraduate students, as well as faculty members. The Krannert Executive Forum provides an excellent meeting ground for academe and business."

The forum meets from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. each Friday in the Krannert Building Auditorium and is free and open to the public as seating permits.

Dates, speakers and titles of talks are:

• Jan. 24 – Sean Burke, chief sales and marketing officer, CentraComm Communications and Aardvark Inc., "Sean's Top 10 List."

• Jan. 31 – William Strong, vice chairman of investments, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, "Overview of the United States Capital Markets."

• Feb. 7 – Rusty Rueff, senior vice president, Electronic Arts, "A Talent Manifesto for the Future You, Your Team, Your Company."

• Feb. 14 – Robert Tucker, president, The Innovation Resource, "Driving Growth through Innovation."

• Feb. 21– William Mays, president, Mays Chemical Co., "Why Cash is Money."

• Feb. 28 – Jennifer Graper, financial director of pension and employee benefits, Eli Lilly & Co., "Leadership in the Pharmaceutical Industry."

• March 7 – June McCormack, executive vice president, guarantor services and sales marketing, Sallie Mae, "Keys to Career Success: Lots of Hard Work and a Little Serendipity."

• March 14 – David Goodrich, president and CEO, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, "Business Fiduciary Responsibility – Only to the Shareholder?"

• March 28 – Sergio Aguilera, Mexico trade counsel, Consulate of Mexico in Indianapolis, "Eight Years of NAFTA ... An Open Regionalism that Works."

• April 4 – Regan Scruggs, vice president, sales and marketing, CSS Group, "Broadband Technology: Impact on Our Community."

• April 11 – John Mutz, chairman, Lumina Foundation for Education, "Lessons Learned from 45 Years of Business Experience."

• April 18 – Kristy Curry, Purdue women's basketball head coach, "10 Keys to Success."

• April 25 – David Griffiths, president and CEO, Citizens Gas & Coke Utility, Indianapolis, "Leadership Lessons Learned."
