Professor's retirement to feature symposium, gift announcement

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A two-day celebration for retiring Purdue University chemistry professor Harry Pardue will feature an all-day symposium of developments in analytical chemistry and a major gift announcement.

The symposium will be from 8:25 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday (9/19) in Stewart Center, Room 202. Several of Pardue's former students will return to present the latest developments in analytical chemistry, the branch of science which is largely responsible for creating the instruments and methods which enable scientists to take accurate measurements.

The celebration will continue Friday (9/20), highlighted by a special luncheon at which a gift to the division of analytical chemistry will be announced. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Memorial Union's West Faculty Lounge.
