Taste of PMU invites Boilers to sample future dining offerings

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – From Asian cuisine to submarine sandwiches and smoothies, a variety of foods will be offered Friday (8/23) for Purdue students, faculty and staff at the annual Taste of PMU.

The event will be 2-4 p.m. on the Purdue Memorial Union front lawn. Taste of PMU will feature food and beverage samples from Union restaurants, including Freshëns and Villa Pizza.

Other items include Asian cuisine from the Union Market, iced coffee from Oasis Café and mini-burgers and ice cream from Pappy's the Original Sweet Shop. Krispy Kreme doughnuts, hot dogs, Hope's Country Fresh cookies and roasted meats from a rotisserie oven "concept of the future" also will be served.

Elaine McVay, PMU marketing coordinator, says the Purdue community looks forward to the Taste of PMU each year.

"The Taste of the Union provides new and returning students a chance to sample the many food options that are available at the Union," McVay says. "The Taste is a fun, high-energy event that is a great way to start a new academic year."

Radio station WAZY-FM will provide entertainment. Information regarding student employment at PMU also will be available. Taste of PMU attendees will be asked to show their Purdue identification card.
