Subject: Farm Bill seminar Thursday (6/13) in Indianapolis

News reporters are invited to learn more about the 2002 Farm Bill and its implications for Indiana. An informational session will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday (6/13) at the Purdue Extension office in Marion County. The office is located at INTECH Ten Building, 6640 Intech Blvd., Suite 120, in Indianapolis.

The presentation is targeted to leaders of Indiana's commodity groups, but news media are invited to attend and learn about the farm bill's new provisions. Purdue Extension agricultural economists Allan Gray and Steve Lovejoy will discuss decisions that farmers will need to make, consequences of the farm bill, new payment programs, and increased support for conservation and environmental efforts.

For more information, contact Beth Forbes at (765) 494-2722 or forbes@purdue.edu. Photographers are welcome, and there will be an opportunity for one-on-one interviews following the session. INTECH Park is located on the northwest side of Indianapolis, on 71st Street between I-65 and I-465.
