Workshops set for June 12-14 at Purdue Farms

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The 4-H Science Workshops will be June 12-14 at Purdue University.

Approximately 600 4-H members from Indiana's 92 counties will attend this three-day event. The workshops are designed to give 4-Hers an in-depth look at specific areas of science. Delegates also will be able to get a feel for college life.

Workshops will cover the topics of food and nutrition, computers, engineering, animal science, plant science, aerospace science and 4-H ambassadors. Delegates will meet at Harrison Hall and then will break into groups specific to the workshop they are attending.

Fees are different for each workshop, but costs range from $75 to $100. Participants are encouraged to bring additional money for meals, snacks and souvenirs.

The 4-Hers will be staying in campus residence halls during the event and will have free time to explore the campus. Other activities include a dance and time at the co-recreational gymnasium.

The 4-H Science Workshops have been educating 4-Hers since 1972. More than 8,000 4-Hers in 11 states and British Columbia have benefited from the workshops.
