Purdue will contribute to Indiana technology conference

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Several Purdue University faculty and staff will discuss technological issues important to Indiana's economic future on Wednesday and Thursday (6/5-6) during a technology conference at the Indianapolis Convention Center and RCA Dome.

The conference, called Indiana ITEC, is designed to bring businesses, schools and government together with leaders in the technology field.

Don K. Gentry, Purdue's vice provost for engagement, will participate in the "New Face of Manufacturing" panel discussion at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The panel will address how technology is transforming competition in the marketplace. Gentry will discuss Purdue's role in the economic growth of Indiana.

Two staff members from Purdue's Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) will take part in panel discussions at 10:30 a.m. Thursday on security policy, training and awareness. Melissa Dark and Matt Rose will address the security policies companies should be considering, and the steps they can take to defend against breaches of computer security.
