Purdue retirees benefit from new Web site

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue University Retirees Web site, which launches on Tuesday (6/4), will offer university retirees improved access to useful information.

The site, https://www.purdue.edu/retirees, contains information ranging from health-related news to details of potential benefits available to employees who have retired from Purdue. It also contains links to other Web sites, including the TIAA-CREF site on retirement funds, the Greater Lafayette Volunteer Bureau, Purdue Convocations and Intercollegiate Athletics.

The site also features updates on the condition of the Purdue golf courses and a schedule of guest speakers at the monthly retiree luncheons. Retired people who wish to catch up on current events can read university news via a message board in a password-protected area of the site. Directory information also is available.

Betty M. Nelson, Purdue University Retirees chairperson, says the site promises to be useful to a variety of people, regardless of where they live.

"We invite you to take a moment and view the new site," Nelson says. "We hope the site will be of use to both the retirees and those to whom we have linked."

Comments and suggestions on the new site can be sent to Nelson at bmnelson1@cs.com or to Purdue University Retirees at masalla@purdue.edu.
